Rob recently refinished our living room, dining room, hallway, and bed-room floors in our new home. We are thoroughly delighted with our new kitchen floor. We considered numerous online and personal recommendations before calling Riparian Wood Floors. We clearly made the right choice. Rob is meticulous, highly skilled, and genuinely caring. He obviously loves wood and is compelled to bring out its beauty. We’d had a very large cherry in our yard taken down and sawed into boards. My husband spent a lot of time and effort milling this into flooring and installing it as random-width, wide plank. We had a clear idea of how we wanted it to look. Rob listened carefully to us, discussed options and pros and cons, and enthusiastically experimented on cut-off scraps of the actual flooring. A major concern of ours was the extent to which he’d be able to produce an acceptable surface given the less than commercial-uniformity of my husband’s milling. The result is totally amazing. Somehow Rob produced perfect surface, and his interpretation of our desired look was spot-on. We went with Naturale for a low-key matte finish that didn’t overwhelm a room already busy with cabinets, furniture, and kitchen paraphernalia. I can’t adequately describe just how perfectly he achieved the desired look. And he’s such a nice guy. We only wish we had more for him to do.
